Under the patronage of H.E Dr. Majid Bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education, the University College of Bahrain held its Sixth Commencement day at the Bahrain Crowne Plaza Hotel on 29 May 2010. Over 150 graduates, both from the Under-graduates in various fields and the Masters of Business Administration (MBA), were honored. The ceremony marked the procession by the Students followed by the faculty and the University dignitaries including the guest speaker Dr. George K Najjar, Dean of American University of Beirut (AUB).
The Chief Marshall, Mike Lewiki conducted the ceremony. The Founder and President of UCB, Dr. Sh. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, welcomed and addressed the gathering of graduating Students, families & their friends and the various dignitaries from the Government. He said, "This is the 6th batch to graduate from UCB and we have completed 8 yrs. in Bahrain. We should not under-estimate the challenges that the university has faced to reach here". Further he continued "we should thank those in the Higher Education Council for their huge effort to improvise education regardless of the difficulties they are facing. Dr. Khalid concluded his speech saying "today you leave your home that has supported you for years armed with knowledge and science to a world that only knows the language of the powerful".
Silver medalist Eman Husaain, who graduated in Marketing, spoke on behalf of the students and extended her thanks to Dr. Khalid who always keeps his door open for his students and listens to their grievances patiently.
