Third year in a row and still going strong, as part of continuous involvement with community development, the students of University College of Bahrain (UCB) organized the Breast Cancer Awareness on 25 October 2011 from 12pm - 3pm in the Saar Hall. During these hours, students set-up the stalls where Cupcakes, Ribbons, T-shirts and various accessories & other items were sold to raise funds to buy a MRI machine for the Salmaniya Medical Complex to support this cause.
Shaikh Ebrahim bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Executive Director, sent out a note of encouragement to the UCB students mentioning, “we are quite pleased with the way our faculty, staff and students were united in the name of such a noble humanitarian cause, including raising awareness and generating funds for such a cause is one of the utmost benevolent acts anyone could do for humankind. This is one of the many student ventures where we have proved our maximum support and encourage more of the likes” he concluded.
