University College of Bahrain proved to be a big hand in cheering up the Box Appeal, one of the biggest charity campaigns around the Region. Box Appeal ultimately stands as a helping hand and financial assistance to Expatriate Laborers who may not be able to afford even the simplest things for daily life.
The campaign was executed in a very different way. The students were provided with separate boxes from the Student Affairs Department and they were asked to fill it up with the everyday essentials which the students can easily afford to contribute.
The department also put up a list of items to be considered while filling up the box, in case of any confusion. The list extends from T-Shirts, cap, Disposable Razor, Shaving Cream, Deodorant, Tooth brush, Tooth Paste, Small Hand Towels, Comb, Soap, Shampoo and up to Talcum Powder.
Once the Campaign is Closed the Helping hands group will collect the Boxes from UCB and distribute them to the Laborers. The campaign upraised the social welfare message, “Small Box Make a Difference”.
