The Graphic Design Department at the University College of Bahrain (UCB) organized a field visit to DaDeDo advertising agency on June 2nd 2013 to have a practical experience on what they have learned in their theory class. The group consisting of 7 students was led under the guidance of Graphic Design lecturers Ms. Lillian Hallak, Ms. Haifa Yaseen and Ms. Sarah Gassoub.
The group were welcomed by the agency Manager, which began with a PowerPoint presentation on the history and detailing of the organization. The presentation highlighted on the different stages of advertising and how they influence each other. Following the presentation, the team were taken for a walking tour to each department, which enriched the students’ knowledge about design industry and the work process.
At DaDeDo they discovered the technical requirements needed to design different products, importance of copywriting and captions, role of scripts, animation and graphics in TV advertisements, production phases of advertisements and the need for joining all these jobs together in the aim of creating a better impact on audience. “The visit proved to be an exclusive opportunity for the students to come across the practical experiences that they have learned theoretically”, commented Ms. Lilian Hallak, Senior Lecturer, Graphic Design. The group, consisting of students as well as faculty members were gratified about the practical knowledge gained from DaDeDo Advertising Agency. The members relished the opportunity to see how the advertising agency departments work specifically and how it interacts with the audience as a whole.
