Islamic Calligraphy Workshop At UCB

University College of Bahrain in association with the US embassy Bahrain, organized an Islamic Calligraphy Workshop for the Graphic Design students on Feb4, 2014 at the UCB campus. The workshop was carried out by the famous Arabic Calligrapher and artist Mr. Everitte Barbee.

The session explained about the beauty of Islamic Calligraphy and why it continues to capture the world’s attention and exist in the modern world. Calligraphy is the art of using special brushes and pens to represent letters and words in a highly expressive and beautiful manner. This inscription allows the imagination of a calligrapher go far beyond, using various forms, styles and materials to project the versatility and creativity of the theology code.

Speaking about the technicalities of this fine art, Mr. Everitte mentioned that it is really important to introduce Islamic Calligraphy in the syllabus of schools so the students may know about it from an early stage and prospective talents can be selected and chosen to study and develop further in this area.
